(Well, actually; it is the first part of a short-story trilogy. Please stay tuned for part 2......)
*PART 2*
~Melanie tiptoed down the corridor and carefully went down the stairs. Her eyes darted around the room and held onto the railing, as she went. Again, Nigellus was nowhere to be seen. Or was he simply hiding in one of the dark corners? She looked, but she couldn't see any movement. Her heart started pounding and her breath was getting heavier.
~"No sight of him. Time to get out of here." she said to herself, softly. She tiptoed to the door and reached for the doorknob. As she turned it, her eyes widened and jaw dropped. The door was locked. "Why me?" Melanie whispered, as she took a step back. She looked around to find another exit. All the windows were boarded up, and there were no lights on. Nighttime is approaching. I wish I managed to bring a flashlight, Melanie thought to herself.
~She slowly turned around, in a circle. Her situation has boiled down to three options: sit and wait, hopefully, for a golden opprotunity~try to break down the door~or go through a window.
~She thought about those three options, for a while and then picked one of them. She lifted her leg, preparing her attempt to break down the door. As she was about to go through with her attempt, a voice distracted her. "Leaving so soon, Tabitha?" the voice asked. Melanie didn't listen to the voice and, went through with her attempt to get away from Nigellus. And not only did the door open, it broke off its hinges and went flying. Into the approaching night. She simply smiled, at her accomplishment. "Hmm, I guess I ain't as weak, as I thought I was." she whispered.

~It seems that, she didn't know how strong she really was. She never really tested it, until now. Nigellus then raised his eyebrows and his eyes widened. Tabitha was extremely powerful; but I don't remember her being that strong, he thought to himself. "You have gotten stronger than, the last time I saw you." he commented.
~Melanie, impressed with her newfound strength, began to walk out of the abandoned building. Nigellus rushed up and grabbed Melanie, by her hair. "Let me go!" she yelled, as he pulled her back into the building. "No. I'm not gonna lose you, again!" he exclaimed; as he dragged her not up the stairs, but into the kitchen. "What are you, dense? I'm not Tabitha!" she snapped at him. "Yes, you are Tabitha." he responded, as he dragged her to a door.
~He opened it, with his free hand, and dragged her inside. "For the hundredth time, I'm not Tabitha. I am Melanie Ann Chase!" Melanie screamed, as he dragged down a flight of stairs. She struggled to escape from his grip, but it was no use. He held onto her hair like a pit bull.
~The room he had taken her into, was dark and cold. There was only one window and it was too small, for her to escape through. Nigellus dragged her over to a wall and chained her up. She swung her feet at him, but that didn't stop him from chaining her up. He simply sat on top of her legs and finished what he was doing.
~When he was done, he didn't get up. He just sat there and stared at Melanie. "I'm sorry that I had to do this to you, but it was necessary." he whispered. "Dragging into a basement and chaining me up, is what you call necessary?" she replied, bitterly. "I have lost you once, my love. I tried to save you, to warn you and I failed. I am not going to let it happen, again." he answered, brushing his hand against her cheek. She then spit, in his face. He wiped it off. "That was really unnecessary, Tabitha." he added, as he stood up. She stared at him, as he stared down at her. "Go to hell." she whispered.
~He didn't say another word, he just walked up the basement stairs and out the door. Melanie was now left alone, with only her thoughts. She couldn't hold it in, any longer. She simply let herself cry. "Jake, Amy. Where are you?" she said to herself, as tears streaked her cheeks. Please God, let my friends come and rescue me....or at least let me see them. One last time, Melanie thought to herself. Nigellus was standing outside the door and he could feel his unbeating heart, breaking.
~Out of the corner of his eye, a tear formed. He gently wiped it away. "What have I done?" he then asked himself; feeling a lot of sudden remorse for his actions, in order to keep his love with him and not wanting to lose her again. He already had to watch her die once, he didn't want to go through it again.

~Meanwhile, Jake and Amy found what they needed and left the office building. "The sun has already set. Man, time really did fly by. Didn't it, Jake?" Amy commented, as they walked to her mom's vehicle. "Yeah, it did." he replied. You could tell that now with the information he needs, he is going to do whatever it takes to save his best friend and crush. They climbed into the car and fastened their seat belts. Jake tossed the bag that his dad gave to him, into the backseat and started the engine. He adjusted and checked his mirrors, as Amy just sat there.
~"Are you ready to kick some vampire butt, Amy?" he asked his friend. She had almost jumped, right out of her skin. "In order to save Melanie, heck yeah." she managed to say. He smiled, as he pulled out of the parking spot and out of the parking lot. As they turned onto Magnolia Ave., Amy glanced out the car window~to see something happening in the cemetery. People were walking around, in a group. She so recognized the person, in front of the group. It was the man who took Melanie.
~"Jake, can you drive a bit faster?" she asked him, as calmly as she could. Jake was somewhat confused, but he did as she had asked. I am scared and I don't want to be around here, just to see what they are going to do next. We got to find Melanie and save her from Nigellus, Amy thought to herself.
~Meanwhile, in the center of the woods; Melanie was still left in the basement, all alone. She wanted so badly to get out of this place and back to her friends, but how can she when she's sorta chained to the wall. "If only I had a key." she whispered. Both of her eyes, once a nice shade of green, are now red and somewhat puffy from all those tears she shed. Is this the end?, she thought to herself. Then, her stomach began to growl. She hasn't eaten a thing since last night. Not only that, she is quite tired.
~Melanie couldn't really think of anything else to do, but to sleep. So, she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. When she finally fell asleep, she began to have the wierdest dream. She dreamed that she was in a castle and was wearing the most beautiful and elegant dress, that you had ever seen. But her hair was a darker shade of red, almost like the color of blood. She wore no crown of metal, but a crown of flowers. Roses, to be precise. In her dream, she was standing at her window and gazed at the moon. Then, a pair of arms wrapped her waist. She smiled.
~"My love, are you hungry?" a voice asked. "Famished." she said, softly. "Then, we hunt." the voice suggested. She turned around and brushed the back of her hand against the cheek of the voice's owner. "Nigellus, my sweet boy. You know me so well." she softly replied, pressing her lips onto his.

~When they pulled away; their eyes became locked, in a stare. "What shall we feast upon, tonight?" she asked. "Whatever you desire." he answered, as he planted kisses on her neck. It sent shivers, shooting from the top of her head to her toes. She then softly moaned, as more kisses were planted. This time, near her collarbone. She didn't even have to look at it, as she then waved her arm and changed the color of the moon.
~Melanie's eyes fluttered open, upon awaking from the weirdest dream she ever had. Still, she could see nothing but the darkness of the basement. And she was still chained to the wall. She softly groaned, at this disappointment. "Jake, Amy. Where are you two? I thought you would be here, by now." she whispered. Then, the basement door opened and Nigellus appeared. He was holding a metal tray with, a glass cup on it. And he was not alone. A figure stood behind him.
~She wanted to back up, but her back was sorta already up and against the wall. Both Nigellus and the cloaked figure came down the stairs, and went over to Melanie. He knelt beside her and set the tray down, next to him. The figure stood at the bottom of the stairs, in silence and waiting. Nigellus then picked up the glass & held it, to her lips. "Drink." he whispered. She didn't want to drink whatever was in that glass, but she didn't have much of a choice. She was so parched that, her mouth felt like sandpaper.
~So she took a sip and when she realized what was in the glass, she just spit it out. "Are you out of your mind? I am not a vampire and I don't drink blood!" she hoarsely exclaimed.
~"But you must, to regain your strength." Nigellus said, as he did attempt to hold the glass up to her lips. "Forget it." she replied, in her hoarse voice. "I knew this wasn't going to be easy. Well then, I must force you to drink." he answered, as he backed up and the figure stepped forward. Out of instinct; Melanie began to kick both of her legs, at the figure. "Hold her down!" Nigellus yelled.
~The figure grabbed at her legs and ended up, with a foot in the face. It stumbled back and then, two more rushed down into the basement. One grabbed her body and pressed it~up against the wall, as the other went for her legs. The first one came back and went for her legs, as well. She couldn't much of anything else but to press her lips together, as hard as she could. "Tabitha; you did force me, to do this." Nigellus softly said, as he edged a bit closer and held the glass, up to her lips. She didn't say a word, she just shook her head. "I've been watching humans for a very long time, to know their tricks." he added, as he pinched her nose. With her nose pinched, she could not breathe.

~Now Melanie is left with only two options, either she can simply keep her mouth shut and die from lack of oxygen or open up her mouth and unfortunately drink some blood. And since she wants to live, she opened her mouth and began to drink. Nigellus then smiled. "That's it, Tabitha.'' he softly said, as the figures started to loosen their grip on Melanie. When she finished off the whole glass; she only glared at him, with blood dripping down her chin. His eyes bore into hers, as he then brushed the back of his hand against her cheek. ~And this time, she didn't even pull away. "Leave us." he said to the figures. "But my lord...." one of them began to say in a raspy voice, but Nigellus raised his hand. "She won't give me too much trouble now." he added, assuring his cloaked minions. In unison, the figures bowed their heads and went up the stairs. And when they were gone, Nigellus turned back to Melanie. She swung her arm and knocked the glass, out of Nigellus's hand. It fell onto the floor, with a soft thud. ~He raised his eyebrows. "If you think that I won't give you much trouble, then why am I still chained to the wall?" Melanie asked in a hoarse voice. "Just a simple precaution, Tabitha." he replied, as he then took out a handkerchief & wiped the blood off of her chin. Melanie just glared at him. When he was finished, Nigellus tucked it back into his coat pocket and looked at her. "Now why must you choose to look at me, like that?" he politely asked. ~Melanie did not answer his question, only glared at him. He then edged closer to her and she didn't move away. What is taking the two of them, so long to come and rescue me?, she simply thought to herself. I guess she's talking about Jake and Amy.
