July's Hot Topic is Series Finales! Talk about the way that shows you watched ended - such as Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Dark Angel.

It's been 8 years since it was put on hold, they should just admit the show's been cancelled. And I'm still waiting for that red dwarf movie.
A lot of shows had sucky endings. Quantum leap - sam never did get to go home. Enterprise - the two worst characters in next gen, going on about their own boring lives for half the ep. Only fools and horses - they should have ended it when they became millionaires, not have them loose all their money and kill off a main character. Buffy - they killed anya! the bastards!

Angel- they just did it where they were going to fight and then it's like, let's go. and it ended, which was stupid because it doesn't end anything, we still have to know how the fight went.

Angel infuriated me, I didn't like how the characters changed in the last ep to reveal their "true sides" and I didn't like the line "I'll take the dragon." I just thought the shock of the show ending affected Joss and his writings.
Buffy I actually enjoyed, it left room for imagination.
ST: Voyager I enjoyed, ended well
Friends - I hated the ending immensly
Seinfeld - HOLY CRAP, worst ending ever.

I've watched very few shows all the way through to the end (simply because most TV is garbage), so I can only talk about Buffy and Angel. Both shows had good but not great finales; Chosen was a good enough episode that was let down by the severe lack of development/exposition from the rest of the season (too many important plot threads were left hanging, and knowing the First's ultimate plan makes all of its actions prior to that point look ridiculous). Angel's finale was similarly just okay, but it was as good as it could have been following the show's dive in quality during S3 and S4. Both ended with a whimper instead of a bang, but could have also been much worse.

Charmed had a wonderful ending with the exception of not having a picture of Prue or the original picture of the sisters. I loved how we got to see so much of the cast that we loved in the final episode and that Billie and Christy weren't a large part of it. I was just disappointed that Billie didn't die when I was rooting for her to be offed the whole season. The many Prue mentions I was very pleased with. I really liked how they finished off the Triad and that Piper was ready to kill Billie for using her son. Exactly how a mother should act and I'm just glad they didn't let Piper forgive Billie. Loved Leo being returned of course and the big group hugs at the end. Writing in the Book of Shadows and revealing what becomes of them after Charmed was a brilliant idea. We get closure for every single character alive. Phoebe marries Coop and has 3 daughters, Paige has children with Henry and Piper possibly has a daughter but I personally don't want her too. The montage at the end with all the photos was very touching and so sweet to see Piper and Leo grow old together. On to Xena's finale. OMG..don't get me started (well here I go!) Absolutely HORRIBLE finale. The level of gore and violence was taken way too far for my taste. Yes its an action show with a lot of violence but that amount was really not necessary. Xena purposely getting herself killed all the while by being hit with god knows how many arrows and then the enemy displaying her body in their camp. Awful.. Not to mention it didn't even take place in Greece. It created a new back story with someone we are supposed to believe had such a big impact on Xena's life yet we never hear of her until the end? Nope..don't buy it. And only Xena and Gabrielle were there? I wanted some more supporting cast such as Ares or Eve since Eve was, afterall, Xena's daughter and Ares had been in the series since the beginning. Then that stupid copout for not bringing Xena back. The show is not about redemption through vengence and that's the message that was sent in the very last episode. Completely ridiculous..and enraged fans so much that they had to make a Director's Cut to try to fix the horrible finale but, alas, that could not repair the damage that was inflicted upon fans in the initial viewing. Forever Charmed = 10 A Friend in Need = -10 Will review Buffy's later.

I liked charmed ending too, because it left nothing open, only to fan fiction. But I felt so bad for Billie because she had no idea what was going on, and through all that she lost her sister anyway, and it was her who did it.
I hated how they ended friends too because rachel left for paris, and it didn't do anything more. I like Joey but they could have done a spin off of Rachel in paris to tell us more about that, or had Joey go and visit her there.

Hmm I thought rachel decided not to go to paris, she decided to stay in america with ross. What bothered me about the last friends was that there was zero indication that joey would be leaving for LA. Instead, we got a story about chandler giving joey a chick and a duck, only for them to never appear in the spin off. Still, I did like how they managed to do an old style joey/chandler plot, haven't seen one of those in years, and the ross/phoebe plot was good too.

Angel's ending sucked mean they go into Battel and your left wondering what happened next. I hate when Show's end with those odds you never know what happened to the cast of a show. That pisses me off big time I hate when show's end with wonderment.

I dunno, i think that when shows end like that it leaves it open to you to imagine whether they survived or died or whatever. Sometimes they're annoying but sometimes they're great.

Well its to leave their options open for if they want to make a spin off or movie.
Personally I think the ending wouldn't have been as good if we had seen the whole battle, and at the end angel said 'ok now thats over, lets go and get a good nights' rest. See you later, everyone.'
