Vote for your favourite episode of Season 5 and tell us why it's your fave. I've got to go with "The Body." Joss Whendon deliberately did not put background music in this episode so that you could feel Buffy's loss. This is also one of the only episode in this Season where we do not see Spike at all. Great acting by Sarah Michelle Gellar!

The Gift was so my favorite. I loved/hated seeing Spike cry. That took guts to do what she did for the world, who hadn't treated her kindly to begin with. She acted such the big sister for Dawn's sake.

I voted 'spiral', i loved seeing buffy and the gang in a van fighting knights on horses. i love it when tv shows take characters out of their usual situations and put them somewhere new.

I loved xander's lines in that ep-
He is the unholy master. Baiter.
Watch what you say about the dark prince. Baiter.

What is your least fave episode of this season?? I really don't think I have a least favorite episode in Season 5. All of them were really good, moved the plot forward and continued the Slayer legacy. If I had to pick, I would say the weakest episode was Buffy vs. Dracula. That seemed to be just an excuse to put the legend of Dracula in Sunnydale.

Buffy vs dracula seems to me like one last season 4 ep, before s5 starts proper with 'real me'. It featured a lot of giles' house, which was never seen on the show again, except for one scene in 'forever'.
Was dracula killed permanently in this ep? He seemed to reappear as a kind of gas at the end. If he is still alive, has he simply forgotten about his obsession with buffy and gone home?

Dracula was not killed permanently in the episode. He stayed down after Buffy staked him twice. He just left Sunnydale.

Harder to pick the best ep of S5 as the quality started to drop a bit, but I'll give an enthusiastic plus to Intervention, a humorous and meaningful episode that gave lots of development to Buffy both as a person and as the Slayer, and had an excellent plot with Spike demonstrating the power of love/affection in the Buffyverse, and the way that even a fundamentally evil/cruel being can be shaped by caring. Of course, they messed that up in S6/S7, but it was great here.
I'll also big up Buffy Vs. Dracula, one of the two funniest episodes of the last three years which also dealt with major and important issues regarding the nature and origin of Slayer power and what it means/meant to Buffy. Lots of clever lines, all of the characters are fun, and it deals with the interesting idea of whether Dracula exists in the Buffyverse. Great fun.

my favorite epiosde is the body. it shows the acting abilities of the entire cast. SMG was great in it. And then the line that made Anya one of my favorite characters:
I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And, and Xander's crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well, Joyce will never have any more fruit punch ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why.
And then when she pulls out the shirt the Willow was looking for out from underneath her and stuffs it back into the dresser...it just made you love Anya more.

I voted I was Made to Love You because I always love the funny episode to cool the steamy drama of the regular season... And Buffybot is probably my favorite character.

I actually have like 3 favorites but, I chose The Body. Mostly because it was such a powerful episode. It was one of the most important turning points of the whole series. If Joyce hadn't of died, Buffy wouldn't have been the person she was in season 7. Intervention was a fav of mine too. It was Buffy and Spike's first real kiss. And it was so brave how Spike was ready to give his life to protect Buffy and Dawn. I LOVED the Gift. To me, it was the second best season finale. OMG i couldn't stop crying lol.
