August's Hot Topic is School!

Most people on this forum have finished school but some might not have - so just talk about any funny stories from school, what were your favourite and least favourite subjects, did you enjoy or hate your school life?

Looking back on school is weird, I never really liked it while I was there, but I kind of get nostalgic when I think about it. My group of friends and I had nicknames for all of our teachers, which was handy for talking about them in secret, and led to many funny moments (my physics teacher signed my yearbook with the name we'd given her!). My favourite subject was English, but I hated Maths - mainly because most of it was so over-complicated and I never understood what use it would have in the real world. Overall, I thought school was okay, but college and uni were much, much better, because you get way more independence, the chance to do your own thing, and you get to meet a lot more like-minded people.

High school was ok. I liked it but then again I didn't. the group of friends that I hung out with were more of the outcast crowd. The teachers and administration kept an eye on us cause they thought that we were up to no good. My grades weren't that great. I liked ditching classes when I could. The funniest memory would have to be Senior english, the teacher was cool and some of the students in that class were nuts. We could get away with not doing some of the work by getting the teacher to discuss music with the class, it was great. I hated math, but loved Science. I miss hanging out with all of my friends.

I got suspended for 10 days for having sex on a field trip... they threatened to expel me but since it wasn't in their code of conduct I threatened to sue, so they just suspended me...

I went to an arts school where I was a singer... it was rad, like FAME

I would never return to high school voluntarily. It was a terrible time.

College, however, was the complete opposite. I loved it. Best time of my life. I miss continuing to LEARN with people with the same interests as myself.

I was gonna go the the community college in my home town, filled out the Financial Aide form, and they needed verification about my Mom's taxes. She was out of town for a week, and by the time she would have gotten back school would have started up and tuition would be due. They said that I could pay half and they would loan me the rest and it would be paid with the Financial Aide, but that would have been around $300, and I don't have that money. So I wasn't able to go. I plan on trying again, when I get back home.

I really enjoyed being at school. I went to a boarding school from when I was 8 until I was 15 and had a great time. I really enjoyed maths and chemistry. This didn't help much when I left but there you go.

I did some Chemistry in middle school and loved it. Wish I had been able to continue with it in high school.

I hated science lol but i loved maths and PE - i loved playing basketball and hockey!!
I also enjoyed french and thats why im doing it at college now
Just got my AS-level results back though and i only got 1 A, 2 Cs and a D
