June's Hot Topic is Reality TV! This will be another very quick hot topic for June (since it's actually July). With 'Big Brother 8' now on British TV and 'America's Got Talent' also currently being shown, the question is - Do you love or hate reality TV?If you love it, why and which reality TV shows do you watch? If you hate it, why and have you ever watched any reality TV show? And love or hate it, do you think there will always be a call for this type of TV programme?

I myself never liked "Reality" TV...It just seemed so fake to me like...Like Big Brother..You know the only reason they acted like that was cuz they were being watched. And the y only reason they would even do something like that was cuz there was money at the end...
I think that People are going to watch these kinds of shows just to see how other people act and to see people eat really gross stuff.

Last Comic Standing is fun to watch while switching channels, but I try to stay away from fools on unscripted tv. Most of them aren't worth my time, but the show Hell's Kitchen I cant watch because of an extreme urge to throw things at the tv which could damage it.

Reality TV was cute when it started eight or so years ago, but now it's just annoying. Most of the shows are populated by obnoxious no-talents who just want a quick route to wealth and celebrity, with their only notable quality being their gigantic egos. The saddest thing about reality TV being so prevalent is that it's keeping quality scripted shows (and their writers and actors) off the air or leading them to be cancelled - there could be another Joss Whedon/"Buffy" out there that will never see the light of day because networks want maximum ratings at minimal cost.

Hate hate hate! I don't want to see a bunch of people sitting around doing nothing all day, I really don't se why anyone would want to watch reality tv at all. And they are on way too much, big brother alone has monopolized channel 4 to the extend they have almost no other programming.

Channel 4 doesnt have anything better anyways. The only things I watch on that channel are Lenno and Conan (did I call Conan a thing?)

Right, forgot people lived past the tucson mountains. hehe I meant the UK channel 4. I don't know, I think Channel 4 has some good shows, such as Hollyoaks, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. But I do agree that reality TV takes over where there could be a good drama or a series. I actually like some reality shows. I love Big Brother - even though I swore that I wouldn't watch it this year, I started watching it after Week 5 or something. I was so glad that Liam, Samanda and Brian were the last 3 to leave in UK BB8! I also like Hell's Kitchen, with or without the celebs, I just think it's a good show and it's quite interesting seeing how chefs prepare your food in restaurants. I don't really watch any other reality shows, so I guess I'm not that bad really.
