December's hot topic is You Know It's Almost Christmas When.... I know it's after Christmas now but this can still be discussed... So, what are the signs that it is almost Christmas? What is the earliest time you have seen something to do with Christmas, eg. Christmas decorations, 'Christmassy' TV adverts? At what time in the year do you think that Christmas should start being acknowledged?

In my local shops they started selling Christmas things before it was even halloween. It was ridiculously early. In a perfect world they wouldn't start till december. That's the 'Christmas month'.

This seems to happen everywhere. I heard Christmas music in a shopping mall on halloween day! The employees said they'd be sick of it by the time the actual holiday rolled around. It's all one big marketing scheme for rich salesmen to get richer. Maybe someday they'll realize that there's an actual holiday before black friday.
