Chapter One: Old Friend Discover New Things Part One
.................
The whether here in Cleveland was something that Buffy, Dawn, Willow and Xander had never had to deal with while the lived in Sunnydale. Sunnydale always had the sun shinning, or it was raining. Never, except that one time, was there snow in Sunnydale. Yet here in Cleveland it snowed, and it snowed a lot. Christmas was a couple weeks away and the now fall was increaseing, so much so that Dawn hadn't had to go to school due to closing.
The only time that happened in Sunnydale was when the school was blown up.
The four friends were standing inside there new digs, a mansion in the middle of nowhere, watching as Faith, yes Faith, played in the snow. Well it wasn't really playing. She was standing behind a tree throwing snowballs at potential slayers. Every time they would try to get her she was just move to a different hidding spot. This had been going on for a little over and hour now and to say that they were confused would an understatment.
Big, bad, moody, Faith was outside in the snow throwing snowballs at people. It was something Buffy herself never thought she would see in her lifetime. "I don't know what to think," Xander commented as he watched Faith run through the snow and tackle Kennedy, they disappeared into a snowbank. "This is so...so...."
"Not Faith," Willow finished for him. Neither one of them knowing what a good word would be to describe this moment right here. "I mean i know she grew up in Boston but..." she trailed off as she continue to watch her girlfriend and Faith going at it. Their breath visiablly showing every time the took a breath. Cheeks red from the cold and ever other part of their bodies covered with some type of clothing. It was definatly a sight to see. If there were to tell anyone about this Willow was sure no one would believe them. "How Buffy..." she said looking at her best friend.
Buffy was standing there was one arm across her stomach and the other hand was playing with the material of her sweater. Her eyes had not left Faith since the whole thing had started. This was usually the Faith only she got to see. When they were alone, in their bedroom, getting ready for bed. The tenderness of this moment was usually reserved for Buffy as Faith held her as she slept, or at least when Faith through Buffy was sleeping. This was the Faith she feel in love with.
"You really had some affect on her didn't you," Xander commented turning away from the window and leaning against it, looking into his bes friend's eyes. That's when noticed something in her eyes that he hadn't seen since Angel left her after Graduation. "Or maybe she's the one that did the affecting," he said looking at Willow and gesturing towards Buffy who still hadn't taken her eyes off Faith and Kennedy. Who had stop fighting and were now sitting on the yard swing. Snow having been whipped off of course.
"Listen guys," she says turning to look at them. "This was bound to happen and you know it," she said turning away from the window and walking through the house, making her way to the kithcen. "I mean can you honestly tell me that this was so big unexpected thing?" She asks turning into the kicthen. Taking out a coffee mug she proceeds to make herself so good old fashioned hott coco.
Xander and Willow exchanged glances and then shrugged. "We thought it would happen sooner actually," the commented.
"Sooner?" The question hung there. "How much sooner?"
"Well..." Willow searched her brain for the right words.
"Spit it out Will..." Buffy said. She wasn't really angry, just confused.
"After you killed Angel and she came into town." Willow said simply not scared of her friend at all.
"If this was a tv show it would have been around season three or something," Xander commented trying to make light to the conversation.
"Oh yeah," Buffy said.
"Yeah."
"There was tension," Willow said ignoring Xander completely. "We all saw it and don't even try and deny that you felt it," she explained. "But then Angel came back and everything was ruined," she finished.
"Ruined?" Buffy asked confused on why she would choice that word.
"Yes ruined," Xander said taking the floor. "You love you Buffy and honestly Angel was never good for you and everyone could see it but you." He said. "Look at what happened back then. You and Faith became close, but then Angel came back, you and Faith fell apart, and then she went evil on you," he said. "It's in the facts," he said.
"Why aren't you more shocked about this?" Willow ask studing her friend carefully. Buffy just shrugged her shoulders in response. "Oh no you don't. What haven't you been telling me?" She asked, but as soon as Xander hit her on the arm she corrected herself. "Us, what haven't you been telling us?"
Just as Buffy was about to say say something the front door burst open and in walked Faith, Kenned, Giles, and a blanket. The blanket was thrown off as soon as everyone one was in the house. "Angel?"
Buffy and Faith's eyes met before she made her way upstairs. "Buffy it's good to see you," Angel said walking over to her and taking her into a hug.
"It's good to see you too, but what are you doing here?" She asked.
