The Spike/Illyria spinoff movie

It's official - joss will be making a spike tv movie! It is confirmed that the movie will also star amy acker as illyria, and its possible an appearance from willow, though it is very unlikely that buffy or angel will show up. It is also known that the movie will be spike-centric, james marsters refused to do the movie if he will just be tagging along an illyria story, apparantly he is tired of being the sidekick. It is unknown whether or not the story will address the outcome in the final episode of Angel. But it does seem likely that they will start work on the movie as soon as possible - james isn't getting any younger, but spike is supposed to be ageless, so it must be made fairly soon.

What are everyone's thoughts on the movie?

Hmmm... colour me a little sceptical on this one. While the news of a possible new tv movie sounds good, I'm hoping Joss has managed to retain some of the writing spark of Serenity and early Buffy/Angel Seasons as opposed to the sludge of later years. And about having Spike as the centrepiece... is there anything interesting really left to say with the character. Seems a bit like fan pandering to the only major Buffy fan group left.

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Illyria - Amy Acker was great in that role.

I think Spike was best in his role was the supporting character. Too much of him, and you miss what makes him great.

I agree about spike; I can't see how his character could go anywhere new, especially if buffy and angel aren't in it. I for one will be watching mostly for illyria, she was a great character in angel and had great chemistry with spike, but she was in too few episodes, and I would love to see what happens to her next.

That's sounds like it would be good. I hope it does happen. I would like to see how it all comes together at the end and I loved Illyria and Amy .

I couldn't stand Illyra. Or Fred for that matter. Nothing against Amy Acker, I just couldn't stand her on Angel. I doubt I'd like her in a Spike movie.

Why was Illyra drawn to Wesley? Was it the memories from Fred that she retained? Was it because he really didn't care what she did to him? What are your thoughts?

I think it was illyria's memories from fred, she knew wesley better than she knew anyone else. Also she needed a guide for information, so she got as much info as she could from wes, and when he stopped giving any she turned to spike.

I think i better watch the last season of angel. i've watched ever season of buffy and angel exept the last season of angel. I saw bits and pieces but none of the end.

The last season of Angel was very good. Return of some familiar faces. Spike made for a comical addition to the cast. (Always good to have someone around Angel who doesn't take him seriously.)

i had heard a while back that there would be a spike-centric movie(via an interview with allison hannigan) are there any new details? actually, i think all the characters are played out but i would still like to watch a new movie

There will be a spike centric movie, and possibly 2 other movies, one involving probably involving willow, but I don't think the scripts have been finished on any of them... Illyria is *likely* to return, but its not definite.

I rilly wldnt like a spike centric movie, he is one of my least favourite characters, I loved him in series 2 but wen he gt that chip an fell in love wiv buffy he rilly got on my nerves, id luv 2 see an illyria movie shes soo kool we defo did no see enuf of her
