I can't even remember my sources now, I made that first post 8 months ago Though I don't beleive anything has changed since then. I check wikipedia every once in a while to see how the movie is progressing, they're usually up to date on info.

Ok new info on the movie- gunn would be a vampire, and be one of the movies' main villains. That is, if its ever made.

Its cool that they're making a movie with Spike and Illyria. I really like both of their characters. Though if they're gonna make a couple out of those two, I don't know about that though.

Spike and illyria a couple? That would be weird, I really can't see them going on a date in a fancy restaurant. But hey, still better than spuffy.

I think that would be an interesting movie, although I dont know how successful it will be. I think that while the Spike we know has pretty much been played as far as he'll go, maybe Joss and the team can unearth some hidden fact from his long expanse of past. He does have many years behind him to search through.

The latest news is joss might not be doing it. Hes so busy, other people like stephen d knight (or whatever his name is) have decided they may want to make the movie without him.

I know Joss is supposedly thinking on carrying on Buffy S8 in comic form, and if that wasn't bad enough, now this. I can't think of much worse that Steven DeKnight helming a Spike film. The guy didn't write a single good episode of Buffy or Angel.

Well I don't care who writes the movie. I just want the show to come back in some form.
But I'm not gonna be reading any buffy comics. It just feels like the wrong medium for the storys.

I kind of think they should leave the Buffyverse alone now. So much damage got done during S6/S7 and Angel S3 (bad stories, bad character development), I can't really see how they could pull things back together. Illyria is a good movie choice because she's unspoilt, but they'd really need a skilled writer like Joss to pen the script. No point having something new if it's of negligible quality.

Hah oh wait silly me, it was Tim Minear, not Steven Deknight.

Ah, ok. Tim Minear could produce something better. His stuff was pretty great during the first 2 seasons of Angel, and he has a nice mix of wit and drama in his scripts. I could see that working, perhaps.

hmmm...well the whole fighting thing sure is better on screen, and its nice to have a tone of voice to help with the jokes but other than that i like the idea of comics. gives buffy a more superhero vibe...

OK now the buffy s8 comics are being made, and they are considered cannon. Plus joss is working on angel s6 comics that are cannon too, and spike will be in them. That and amy acker saying in an interview that the movie won't happen means you can pretty much give up all hope of seeing a spike & illyria movie.
