After buffy came back from the dead at the start of season 6, there was a big deal made about how buffy has to get a job because someone has to pay all the bills for the house. But who was paying them back when buffy was dead? Xander, giles and anya had their own homes and bills to pay, dawn was at school and willow and tara didn't have jobs. It seems kinda of unfair on buffy that she was pressured into getting a job straight away, while willow and tara made no attempt to bring any income in. If they simply used their magic to make money appear back when buffy was gone, why did they not continue to do so after she returned? No, they just stayed in buffys house and ate her food, and expected her bring money in *and* go slaying *and* get an education, while they just sat around making party supplies magicly appear. Jerks. Also, how is it that unemployed giles could afford to give buffy that huge check to keep her out of debt for years, and make all those transcontinental flights during s6 and 7?

I think Giles had a LOT of $$ put away from his time as a Watcher. The Watcher's Counsel paid for all his expenses, so I assume that his paycheck was just money in the bank.
And I completely agree about the bills thing. If Tara and Willow were living in the house, they should have helped pay the bills as well. It was not right to put all that on Buffy.

And how did they manage to feed all those potentials in s7? Pretty much no one had a job by that point.

I thought Buffy was working at the school? And I'm sure Xander helped out at the house, too.

And why didn't the Watchers counsel help care for Buffy when they knew she had returned?

I thought Buffy was working at the school? And I'm sure Xander helped out at the house, too. Ah yes I forgot about that. Still, towards the end, buffy didn't have a job, and neither did xander or wood, they all devoted all their time to preparing for the first. And theres no way they could have all afforded to look after about 30 or so teenagers. As for the watchers council, since when do they help at all? All they do is train watchers, they don't help slayers directly except when they slayer specificly asks them for help.

I know they helped pay for Giles' daily living. When Buffy ended her association with the Watchers Counsel, she also refused any finanical assistance as well.

The writers of she show didn't think about that i guess. But Giles would be the type of man that is loaded with money without anybody knowing about it. On top of that he most likely have contacts from his wild days. You never know when that comes in handy. Our willow and her little girlfriend should have been paying something, but who could demand anything from our willow? I couldn't

Our willow and her little girlfriend should have been paying something, but who could demand anything from our willow? I couldn't I could! By this point in the show, willow had become such an annoying character. By season 7, the only thing they could do to make her seem less annoying was to have her stand next to kennedy all the time.

All they do is train watchers, they don't help slayers directly except when they slayer specificly asks them for help. I got the impression that the normal deal was that the Watcher's council supported the watcher and the watcher in turn supported the slayer. Certainly that would seem the case with people like Kendra who were raised with the idea she could become the slayer. I always thought Buffy was an exception. I am sure she could have contacted the Watcher's Council (especially since Giles had been reinstated and was getting a paycheck again) and asked for help but there was no way she was going to do that. She knew what the price would be. Sure, they'll give her complete financial support or do it through her watcher as long as she does what they tell her to do. Come to think of it, that still doesn't make any sense. The watcher is supposed to support the slayer. I mean, her lack of success in college and her inability to hold a decent job all come from her duties as the slayer. She's got a job and the watcher has a job too, supporting his slayer. The whole thing really keeps jumping tracks to serve whatever the writers want from the story. Buffy needs a job and we ignore that her watcher should support her. Then when holding the job becomes inconvenient to the story, she doesn't have it anymore AND can support an army of potentials.

Yeah but everyone didn't leave town till much later, after the 50 or so potentials had moved in, and eaten all the food.
