^ Michele Whitman, I think. She did the last four years of Buffy, as well as doubling for SMG in Scooby Doo 2 and a couple of her other films.

The general gist is that she was very nice and personable during the first season, but once the show got renewed and started getting critical success and strong ratings for the network, she apparently got very diva-ish. Jeff Pruitt and Sophia Crawford (stunt director and stunt Buffy respectively) ended up walking/being fired at the end of S3 because Sophia was getting lots of attention for her work, and SMG didn't like it going elsewhere - demanding that no-one applaud or otherwise positively acknowledge Sophia while she was performing. There's another big incident during S4, where she apparently had a screaming fit at one of the male leads (I'm guessing Marc Blucas) when he did a joke impression of her when she was re-dubbing some lines. The lead ended up asking what the heck was wrong with her, and why she had to make things so difficult for everyone (...and then Riley gets written out. Hmm....) Wow what a B*tch! Also, it's been said that during the last few days of shooting, she was frequently rubbing people's faces in her forthcoming movie career and implying that she couldn't wait to be out of there. Hmm lots of buffy actors went on to have movie careers, especially Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green, you'd think SMG wouldn't act like she's the only one. That said, all of this is rumour - although I'm inclined to believe it. Other actors who've worked with her have dubbed her a bit of an ice queen, and she openly said that she wanted her film "Simply Irresistible" to fail. Huh why did she want her own film to fail?

^ I think she felt that the script was poorly done, and didn't approve of some of the rewrites that went in - but because she was contracted, she had to do it anyway.

While Sarah Michelle Gellar was the perfect Buffy Summers, I think she would've been a fantastic Cordelia, as she revealed in "When She Was Bad." She acted as bad as Cordelia, if not worse. I imagine Cordelia in the spot of Buffy in like every fight scene, and it cracks me up.

Yes. Both Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Kendra actress auditioned for it. Sarah was screentested 11 times for Cordy.
