I didn't know this till a little while ago but whilst Sarah Michelle Gellar went for the part of Cordelia, Julie Benz auditioned for the part of Buffy... I don't think that she would have made the part of Buffy as real as Sarah did as I think she is more suited to play the part of someone who is evil and devious (that's why she played the part of Darla so well  )! What do you all think? I can't see her as Buffy, to be honest. She was great as Darla, though! |

i think she would have made a decent buffy, although her voice annoys me!

I think Sarah would have made a good Cordelia but I can't imagine Julie as Buffy. Of course I love Cordy played by Charisma so I'm just glad things were the way they were.

What do you all think?? I could easily picture Sarah as Cordy. Just think, "When She Was Bad." I can picture Julie Benz as Buffy. But Benz would remind me more of the movie Buffy (Kristi Swanson). Benz gave performances as Darla where she clearly had the acting ability to have played Buffy. She did scenes where she cried, showed panic and, as the human Darla, lots of emotions. Of course, now, everybody is going to say they can't picture her as Buffy because they've seen Sarah as Buffy for 7 years. Now, only Sarah or someone who looked very close to how Sarah looks would be Buffy. But had Julie Benz gotten the role, we'd all be saying we couldn't picture Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy.  I think it just comes down to acting talent and Julie Benz is a very good actress. |
