If you love both Angel and Spike, you've got to see the 5th Season.
I really enjoyed Angel's show. I did not really like the hooking up of Cordy and Angel, but overall I liked how darker the series was from Buffy.
And it doesn't hurt that looking at David Borenaz is very very easy to do.

I loved but hated how Cordy and Angel hooked up. I mean he was Buffy's guy and Cordy didn't even like him back then, but now it's cute how they are all mushy. Angel is definitely my favorite vamp. He's pretty hot.

Cordy liked Angel (see Season 1) but he was not about her at all. She got over liking Angel when she and Xander hooked up.

When Angel became Angelus though, LOOK OUT! The episode "Passion" was just great because we got to see Angelus at work.
I say Angelus. He used everything he could to make his "kill."

Angel let his love and protection of people get in the way, but Angelus didn't care. He would kill anybody that got in his way.

I don't know if I'd say Angelus was smarter than Angel; he was just cruel and malicious. In terms of intelligence, they're probably about equal - Angelus just doesn't have that pesky conscience to worry about.
