Buffy paused for a moment. She knew that she'd promised to stop trying to blindly protect Dawn from everything and instead show her things, but perhaps this was too much too soon. On the other hand, if Dawn never experienced what slaying was really like, she might not realise how dangerous it could be.
"Okay, you can come on this sweep. But you have to stick with Anya and me and be prepared to run as soon as I give the word - we never know what could be out there."

With Dawn now joining their party, Buffy went back inside quickly and stocked up on a few more weapons, handing Dawn a cross and a bottle of holy water, and stowing away a stake inside her jacket.
"Okay," she looked around. " I guess we're ready to go."

"Okay, Dawn, I should probably think about meeting the others now, sort out whatever situation is going on."
She pulled out her wallet and handed Dawn some cash.
"Maybe get pizza if you want, or I think there are a few bits left about... I'm sorry to have to leave you again."

Dawn ran upstairs to her room and slammed the door.
After a few seconds she went back downstairs, and took the money from buffy's hand, glaring at buffy. She then ran back upstairs and slammed the door again.
