And i actually found out about buffy in season 6. So i didn't see season 1 until after i saw season 6 and 7. That may have something to do with me not being interested in season 1's finale. Ah, that explains things a bit - I started right from Welcome To The Hellmouth, so the order we saw them in has probably effected our opinions; e.g. you like S7, whereas I really dislike it and S6.

I just feel that Prophecy Girl was Anti-Climatic... Buffy is destined to die at the hands of the Master and plunge the world into torment, but after being given CPR is able to push the Master onto a big wooden stake-shaped tableleg... then she goes to the prom with her father-figure, her boyfriend, and her two best friends, and they all lived happily ever after...

I don't think it's that anti-climactic, it was a one episode plot that served its purpose in developing the characters and the show's themes - if we're talking anti-climactic, look no further than Grave or Chosen. And they didn't exactly live happily ever after; the ramifications of this ep went on throughout the whole show, and a whole episode got devoted to exploring the extremely traumatic effect that dying had on Buffy.

Also they had to leave it at a place if the show got canned they could just go, yep a story ended... so most finales on tv seem anticlimatic... it'll be ok though

Every odd numbered season of buffy ended in such a way they could end the series as well.

My fav. wepisode of this season is Welcome to the Hellmouth. Where it all began. But on Prophecy Girl, don't yall notice that with all the sewage stuff, when Buffy dies and falls onto the ground, she doesn't get her dress dirty. At all and its white now thats magic.

Yep, the magic of Sunnydale fashion. There's another notable one in Phases, Willow goes running from Oz and falls over, getting her yellow dungarees (yikes! now there's bad fashion for you) really dirty. Next scene, she runs into the library and they're completely clean. Hmm....

The mistakes tv people make.

There was one ep, I think this one was phases too, where giles' glasses keep appearing and disappearing from his face every time he turned around. I'd like to know how they would have explained that!

I voted 'never kill a boy on the first date'. It seemed more about the characters than the plot, especially giles, and the early seasons had the best giles/buffy relationship.
