I would have done a poll but there are too many contenders! Just tell us who you think is the funniest character on Buffy and why! From the high school years, everyone was pretty funny, but I suppose Xander or Cordelia would have taken the title - some of their one liners were great, both separately and as a couple. From the last few years, Anya was probably the funniest. The show mostly lost its sense of humour and dumbed down what little there was left, but Anya still came out with some great lines. |

s2- xander or cordelia
s3- xander
s4- xander or anya (or maybe spike)
s5- anya
s6- anya
s7- anya & occasionally andrew
Andrew was a funny character, but unlike the other characters, there was no depth, he was nothing but comic relief, and was a pretty poor character.

in season 1 i thought there were all funny because they were just getting to know each other.
in season 2 it would have to be Xander and Cordelia because they way they would always fight with each other over nothing at all was always fun to watch.
in season 3 it would have to be xander because well he was just the joker of the group, always joking in serious situations
in the rest of the seris it would be Anya because she is just getting to know the human way of life, and she is always out spken which is funny. She always tells people what the do, yet don't want to hear and she doesn't even know it. She was the best chartacter add on in the seris, she definatly made the show better when she came in in season 3.

I would go with Xander, Spike and Anya. Spike had the one liners that were just unforgettable. And Anya's learning how to be human was also amusing.

Xander and Cordelia are great as a couple! I love them together. I also like Spike, he has the best one liners. And Anya is ofcourse always funny. The only time she was really serious was with Joyce's dead.. That scene with her and Willow was really emotional.
But.. Buffy had some great one liners too. But she isn't the funniest character.

Anya all the way. She is hilarious. With her being a vengeance demon trying to fit into a human lifestyle has its funny points.

Before Anya came along, Xander was the funniest. And i loved them as a couple. To bad it didn't last forever.

I think like in the first couple of seasons Xander was the funniest but when Spike became more in the picture, he started to be really funny.

Well I think that Anya brought a lot of humor to the show but i think overall it was just collaboratively funny. Without one character's remark the others couldn't be funny.
