In season 5 giles said to anya 'you were born here (in america). Your human self, that is.' And anya said 'Thats right, foreigner'.
But in selfless it turns out she's from sweden. And anyway common sense will tell you 1120 year old anya couldn't have been born in america, unless she was a native american, and she doesn't look native american. So why did the supposedly intelligent giles say that, and why did anya agree with him?!?!

Maybe Giles was talking about the fact that Anya was 're-humanised' in the States, when her amulet got smashed? Hmm... actually, I'm not sure if that could be right. I can't recall any instances where the gang revealed knowing exactly *how* Anya lost her powers - in Selfless, even Anya seemed to forget about her smashable necklace!

Anya did know how she lost her powers. it says so in Doppelgangland. So maybe she related the story to the group later, they must have wanted to know. I think Giles was definitely thinking of her 're-humanization'

Yep, but that still causes a problem for Selfless. Anya could have easily just smashed her necklace again instead of going through the whole melodramatic 'I want to take it back' thing. In fact, I think Selfless introduced a whole heap of continuity errors into Anya's characterisation and past... good job I pretty much ignore S7.

Did Anya even have the necklace in Selfless? lol
I think Giles didn't know she was from Swedan...i mean she never really talked about her life before becoming a demon...so i don't know.

Yea i doubt Giles knew about Sweden because in Selfless D'Hoffrin says the whole 'interesting historical side note' thing. And about the necklace i think once it was smashed in the first place she didnt have it anymore. Because you know that entire ep she wasnt wearing it so...

But she was wearing it prominently in Entropy and a couple of s6 episodes, so she did have it back... who knows, we just have to chalk it up as a plot contrivance.

That's right, Anya said they could take turns driving. That says that she could operate a car, so Triangle messed up that bit of continuity.

Oh yep. With all of the plot holes and character inconsistencies in S7, we could probably write a book.
